About Us

OUR MISSION

To educate and empower women and children by enabling them to have an effective and positive role in constructing a better society.

OUR VISION

A better world for women and children.

OUR HISTORY

Center for Community Development and Research (CCDR) is a registered non-profit organization in Bangladesh dedicated to empowering vulnerable and underserved communities. Since its establishment, CCDR has been committed to supporting marginalized groups, especially women, children, orphans, and disadvantaged families across both rural and urban areas.

Rooted in community-based development, CCDR began its journey by addressing the social and economic challenges faced by impoverished households. Over time, CCDR expanded its work to include education support, livelihood development, social protection, research-based interventions, emergency relief, environmental resilience, and capacity-building initiatives. Through strong partnerships with government agencies, local institutions, and international development partners, CCDR continues to deliver sustainable, impactful programs that uplift communities and contribute to long-term development.

OUR PROMISE

CCDR is committed to serving neglected, vulnerable, and hard-to-reach communities so they can build stronger, safer, and more dignified lives. We work alongside communities to strengthen resilience, expand opportunities, and promote sustainable development for current and future generations.

We believe every individual deserves access to basic human necessities such as food, clean water, safe shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities. Guided by principles of transparency, accountability, and respect for cultural and community values, CCDR ensures that all stakeholders—community members, local authorities, and partners—are actively involved in assessments, planning, and program implementation.

CCDR upholds the belief that all human beings, regardless of gender, age, religion, ethnicity, or socio-economic background, have the right to live with dignity and access opportunities for growth. Our promise is to remain a reliable partner in community development, committed to creating meaningful and lasting change.

Geographical Coverage

CCDR concentrates its humanitarian and development initiatives within the Chittagong Division, reaching some of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations in southeastern Bangladesh. Our programs currently operate across 7 districts, including:

  • Chattogram
  • Cox’s Bazar
  • Feni
  • Noakhali
  • Rangamati
  • Bandarban
  • Khagrachari

These interventions prioritize landless families, disadvantaged communities, and those living below the poverty line.

A major area of focus is the Rohingya Camps in Cox’s Bazar, where CCDR provides essential support to displaced families struggling with limited livelihoods, inadequate shelter, and fragile living conditions. With restricted employment opportunities and heavy reliance on aid, both refugee and host communities depend on sustained humanitarian assistance.
